In case of complete eruption, wisdom teeth do not cause any problem whatsoever; mostly there is simply not enough space for them to grow. Malpositioned or partly erupted teeth generally cause damage to the already existing teeth. Due to the anatomic changes, the parts of teeth and gums where the wisdom teeth grow can get hard to reach for cleaning. This can easily cause infections or abscesses and cysts.
When extracting wisdom teeth that have not yet broken through, it is most essential to not cause any damage to the surrounding tissue and nerval structures.
The removal of multiple wisdom teeth during one intervention is possible. It is the medical conditions that decide when and how the teeth are to be removed.
We , of course, doublecheck with our patients before deciding anything on their behalf.
